Beef Burgers

Prep Time: 20 mins

Ingredients :

For Patties:

1 pound ground beef

1 carrot, peeled and chopped finely

1 medium raw beetroot, trimmed, peeled, and chopped finely

1 small onion, chopped finely

2 Serrano peppers, seeded and chopped

1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped finely

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

3 tablespoons olive oil

For Burgers:

8 whole-wheat hamburger buns, split

1 large onion, sliced

2 small tomatoes, sliced

8 lettuce leaves

Directions:

For patties: in a large bowl, add all ingredients except for oil and mix until well combined.

Make equal sized 8 patties from the mixture.

In a large non-stick skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and cook the patties in 2 batches for about 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown.

Arrange the bun bottoms onto serving plates.

Place patty over each bun, followed by the onion, tomato, and lettuce.

Cover each with top of the bun and serve.
